Isabella’s flooring concept – choose the right flooring for your awning
The right flooring for your awning depends on how you camp. Touring campers can choose a simple three-layer solution, while seasonal campers and permanent campers can add extra insulation and a firm, level floor. Here you get a complete overview of Isabella’s flooring concept, the order of the layers and the solution that best suits your type of camping.
Awning flooring – quick overview
| Type of camping | Recommended flooring solution |
|---|---|
| Touring caravanner | GroundCover → Ground Sheet → Isabella Carpet |
| Seasonal camper | GroundCover → Ground Sheet → ComfortCarpet → Isabella Carpet |
| Permanent pitcher | GroundCover → IsabellaFloor → Ground Sheet → ComfortCarpet → Isabella Carpet |
PLEASE NOTE: You do not need to use all five layers. The flooring concept can be customised according to your needs for stability, insulation and comfort.
What does Isabella’s flooring concept consist of?
- GroundCover protects the awning
GroundCover is placed as the bottom layer and protects the awning mud flap and draught skirt from mud and splashes from the ground. This makes cleaning easier when the awning is packed away.
- IsabellaFloor creates a firm and level floor
IsabellaFloor is used as a stable base and provides a firm, level floor in the awning. It is particularly beneficial for permanent campers who want a more permanent and stable flooring solution.
- Ground Sheet protects against moisture
Ground Sheet is a tarpaulin placed underneath the carpet. It acts as a moisture barrier and helps keep moisture from the ground away from the living area of the awning.
- ComfortCarpet insulates against the cold
ComfortCarpet is placed underneath the carpet and provides a soft, insulating layer. It helps keep cold and moisture from the ground away and makes the floor more comfortable to walk and spend time on.
- Isabella Carpet completes the floor
Isabella Carpet is the top layer and gives the awning a comfortable and inviting finish. The carpet is durable, easy to clean and comfortable to walk on.

Which flooring solution should you choose?
Flooring for the touring caravanner
If you often move from one campsite to another, a solution with GroundCover, Ground Sheet and Isabella Carpet is a good choice. It provides protection against mud and moisture, with a comfortable carpet as the finishing layer.
Flooring for the seasonal camper
If your awning remains pitched for a longer period, you can add ComfortCarpet between the Ground Sheet and Isabella Carpet. This provides extra insulation and a softer surface throughout the camping season.
Flooring for the permanent camper
As a permanent camper, you can choose the complete solution with IsabellaFloor as a stable base. Ground Sheet, ComfortCarpet and Isabella Carpet are then laid on top. This gives you a firm, level and comfortable floor in your awning.
