Slider for zip, (2 pcs.)

Spare part for awning zips

Zippersliders are an essential part of your awning’s zip – and they’re also the most used. When the slider starts to feel stiff or no longer closes the zip properly, it’s a clear sign that it needs replacing. Replacing worn sliders in time helps extend the life of the entire zip system and ensures that your awning continues to function properly. Proper maintenance of your zips also reduces wear on front and side panels and other parts of the awning. A well-maintained zip glides smoothly, seals properly and lasts longer.

How to replace the slider (applies to all zips in the awning):

  1. Unzip the front or side panel (see Figur 1).
  2. Slide the old slider to the opposite end stop (b1) and past it to remove. Fit the new slider and slide it back to the starting position (b2) (see Figur 2).
  3. Make sure the slider is facing the correct way (see Figur 3).

Maintenance tips:

  • Never use force when zipping or unzipping
  • Keep the zip clean and free of dirt and sand
  • A silicone-based spray such as Aqua Tex helps improve glide and adds water-repellent protection
  • If the zip opens after being closed, the slider is likely worn and should be replaced
  • Never let the side panel hang by the zip – this puts strain on it
  • Curved zips require a slight tension on the outer edge for the best finish

You may also need to replace the zip stoppers (900060089) if the end stops are worn.
